I definitely met some of my best friends just through my freshmen year dorm experience. It was definitely a brand new experience, and people I didn’t know [were] all around me. But that was one of the best things about it — there were so many of us going through that at the same time, that everyone was really friendly and really reaching out to one another. So some of my best friends are definitely the people I met through my freshman-year dorm — people who lived next door, down the hall, people I would bump into or go catch a meal with. I think my favorite part of college has definitely just been the people that I’ve met. I learned so much. I came from a pretty small high school and people were roughly of the same demographic, and that was pretty much all I had known growing up. And I think that, at my university, I’ve really broadened my horizons a lot and gained a lot of perspective. I’ve met so many international students — people from different backgrounds and people who are passionate about so many different things — that I feel like I’ve learned just as much from the people around me as I have from my course work.
